Commitment to Habitat for Humanity

Although Tilcon supports a wide variety of community relations’ events and organizations, we take great pride, in our long-term involvement with Habitat for Humanity.  Tilcon has been a sponsor of Habitat for Humanity for the past ten years and has contributed hot mix asphalt and concrete for construction of hundreds of homes built in Connecticut.

In the spirit of Tilcon’s slogan, “Great Homes Begin with Great Foundations,” Tilcon supports Habitat’s mission of providing decent and affordable housing for all.

• In 2005, the Hartford chapter of Habitat for Humanity recognized the company for its dedicated and continued support by naming Tilcon, “Corporate Partner of the Year.”
• In 2006, Tilcon deepened its commitment with Habitat for Humanity by sponsoring an unprecedented event called the Home Builders Blitz 2006 where professional builders across the country constructed more than 500 Habitat homes from start to finish in just five days. Locally, in New Britain, Tilcon donated the concrete for six of these homes as a major sponsor of the event for the Hartford Area Habitat.  The Home Builders Blitz was the largest affordable housing effort ever to take place in one week.
